How To Dream

Mmm, I haven't posted in a while, and I have several finished pieces, so I figured I'd start a steady stream of them.

This one is the product of HOURS and HOURS of colored pencil work. I have a pretty serious blister on my pinkie from this one, because I hold my pencil interestingly, and any long drawing project makes my fingers bleed.

Nevertheless, it's from a project in my AP art class where we drew names out of a hat and subsequently had to draw the person we chose. Furthermore, we had each made lists of 40 words to describe ourselves over the summer, and we were required to use certain chosen words in the picture. I also asked Jessica (my subject, : ~Jessica-Grimm) to make an additional list of her favorite things. I think I have nearly 35-40 of her favorite things in the picture, too....(I should really count!)

Anyway, it took probably upwards of 30 hours, but I never really count. I tend to enjoy multitasking, so I drew it while watching Gilbert Strang lectures ( [link] ) in order to study for my math tests! He's absolutely hilarious for an MIT math professor. He is so serious, and I think that's what makes him funny.
